Rifle facilities include a 100 yard center-fire range and a 50 yard small-bore range for 22 cal only. Because of the location of the range and the limited yardage, 50 caliber BMGs are not allowed.

Safety First!
The first and most important goal of the Grafton County Fish & Game Association is to provide a safe environment where members and event participants can enjoy the shooting sports. That requires everyone to use good judgement and to follow the club’s rules and regulations! (<- click here)
Colonel Cooper’s Rules
- All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
- Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy. (For those who insist that this particular gun is unloaded, see Rule 1.)
- Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target. This is the Golden Rule. Its violation is directly responsible for about 60 percent of inadvertent discharges.
- Identify your target, and what is behind it. Never shoot at anything that you have not positively identified.
Indoor Range
The indoor rifle season begins in January and continues through March. Every other week, we travel to Precision Valley Fish and Game, 1600 Reservoir Road, Perkinsville, Vermont. See the club calendar for the schedule.
GCFGA Rifle Team practices Tuesday night from 5:30 to about 7:30. Cost for the entire season is $25, and we shoot until the end of March. Targets are provided, and please note that only .22 ammunition is allowed, and we suggest any “standard velocity” ammunition.
Do not worry if you don’t have a rifle. We have many different rifles to borrow, and any 22 rimfire rifle will work. Non-members are always welcome.
Rifle Range
The outdoor range has berms at 25 yards, 50 yards and 100 yards. All shooting takes place from an NRA approved safety structure. Shooting benches are provided along with areas for off-hand or prone positions.
Smallbore Range (22 caliber only)
The small-bore range is a 50 yard range. 22 caliber pistols can be used as long as targets are placed within 10 feet of the berm; shooters then engage the targets from an appropriate distance.
